Bryan-College Station, TX – May 26, 2024 – Twin City Toucans FC were victorious in their first away match of the 2024 USL2 season beating AC Houston Sur 2-0 in Houston, marking their second consecutive win.

The Toucans had plenty of chances to score in the opening half, but could not find the back of the net. The Toucans did receive brilliant play from their defense which limited AC Houston Sur to only a handful of scoring opportunities.

In the second half, Rhys Shirley opened the scoring for the Toucans, notching his second goal of the season, giving him goals in back-to-back matches. Then later in the half, it was Vilius Labutis who found the back of the net for his first goal of the campaign giving the Toucans a 2-0 lead, which would end up being the final result.

The shutout win marked the first clean sheet of the season for goalkeeper Tristan Whitlock who continues to provide a strong presence in goal.

Although not appearing on the score sheet, the Toucans received fantastic contributions from Alex Golder, who made his Toucans debut. The Louisiana State University-Shreveport product received high praise from the Toucans coaching staff.

The Toucans return home Wednesday, May 29th as they take on Corpus Christi FC, then travel south to take on Corpus Christi FC again on Saturday, June 1st.
